longtime DW person, seeking new folx! :)
Name:Rafi. If you come across this post or my profile and you think "hmm, looks familiar," that's possibly because I changed my DW name several months ago. It used to be "Emerald Em."
Age:58
I mostly post about:My daily life, my writing, my disabilities, autism, mental illness, being queer, my wife, fanfic, my gender journey, chronic illness (feh!), the political reality I and my people live in
My hobbies are:writing, crocheting, studying Wicca
My fandoms are:The West Wing, Man from UNCLE, Criminal Minds, some others
I'm looking to meet people who:share similar interests,
My posting schedule tends to be:three or four times a week, sometimes more often
When I add people, my dealbreakers are: TL;DR = don't be a bigoted jackass. Longer version: no queerphobia of any kind, no Trumpers. Be open-minded. Accept my lived experience in my queer self and my disabled body and mind. I welcome respectful questions if you have them, though.
Before adding me, you should know:I don't always have the spoons* to comment on all the new posts that pop up on my reading page when I log in. But I do do my earnest best to read the posts. So I generally know what's going on with my DW friends. Also, the mini-bio in my profile is currently (as of June 14 2025) pretty short--I'm working on updating and lengthening it--so it might not tell you much. If you have questions, please ask!
I am AFAB nonbinary, and again, happy to answer respectful/curious questions. But no phobias. If you don't like it, lump it and move along.

Most of my posts aren't f-locked, but except for more recently, they tend to be mainly fandom-related. I try to always respond to comments, though it may not be right away because I'm in the same boat as you when it comes to spoons. I welcome discussion on my posts though, no matter how old they are.

There seems to be quite an overlap among fen and queer people; also among queer people and chronic illnesses. I sometimes ponder about why this is the case. I'm not sure it matters, I just like thinking about it.
I need to update my mini-bio on my profile, and/or write an About Me post.
I'm going to run over and add you. See you around! :)

hey rafi~ I'm returning to DW after a very long time and basically feel like a newbie again. I think you sound really interesting and I feel like i would enjoy getting to read about your perspective on things if you would have me. I used to put more energy into studying eclectic wicca, and though i'd fallen off for now my beliefs are still rooted in there. Also more recently in life have i allowed myself to think more on my own gender related stuff but it's still something i'm exploring, so hearing about other peoples lives and experiences is something that i do like to take in.

But I do still count myself as an ally to queer/LGBTQIA+ people whose exact identity I don't share. I mean, we all gotta be allies to each other.
ANYWAY. I'm going to run over and add you now. :)

I note your thoughts on religion and I have a book to suggest to you: "Disabled Witchcraft: 90 Rituals for Limited-Spoon Practitioners." Author Kandi Zeller. The author is a queer disabled person who was brought up in a severely Christian household but still finds value in Christianity. The rituals are short, well explained, and easy to do. I just finished reading it.
Also, if you want to talk about Wicca, I could be a source; I've been doing it for around 30 years. You are welcome to PM me about it if you like.
Anyway, I'm running over to add you to my friends. :)
